Boy oh boy, am I glad we have Homeland Security preventing terrorists from attacking us on our own soil. Detroit is part of the U.S. isn't it?

SUNDAY EVENING DECEMBER 27, 2009
As the government spokesman called him, 'the terror suspect' was on a list of people with potential terrorist connections for the last two years but somehow managed to elude the infamous 'no-fly' list for some reason. Does it mean this is one more reason that someone or some group of people, aside from our useless elected officials, that are employed in a particular government agency that has the initials DOHS doesn't view people of this ilk as potentially dangerous? Or does it mean that this is one more example why the FBI should have been expanded and allowed to handle these matters from the get go and this 'particular' agency should never have been formed to begin with.

It appears that the twenty three year old Nigerian terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is the son of a Nigerian banker was not only on the list as a 'potential' but actually did have ties and was trained by al Qaeda which means he managed to fall through the cracks somewhere along the line. But, putting aside the facts that (1) he was a real terror suspect and (2) he managed to disappear for a month while he was in training for the big day and (3) he managed to waltz right on to an airplane destined for the United States brings me to my real question. Why hasn't the agency that is charged with protecting our country asked for every list that exists anywhere in the world and then make sure that no one on those lists, terrorist, potential terrorist, associate of terrorists, terrorist wannabee, Islamic extremist, terrorist sympathizer and on and on and you get the point, are ever allowed to travel on aircraft coming or going from the United States or anywhere in the world for that matter. These people should not be allowed in a hot air balloon let alone any type of aircraft that can potentially deliver them and their weapons of mass destruction to any destination, even a wrong destination.

Now the airlines are preforming another knee jerk reaction with the new 'no leaving your seat one hour before landing' rule, it seems that the brilliant thinkers missed the point that the next terrorist to try this will have an explosive device that may not require a trip to the bathroom to set it off. And again, none of this nonsense would be necessary if this inept individual was prohibited from flying in the first place. By the way, there's no excuse for not having access to lists compiled by intelligence agencies from around the globe, it's been eight years since 9/11, haven't the agencies responsible for our security learned anything.

MONDAY MORNING DECEMBER 28, 2009
I thought I had covered this story pretty well and even gave Janet Napolitano a break, call it Holiday softness, but then this morning she jumps right onto the excuse wagon, which by the way is parked right next to the turnip truck, if that's any indication as to how people are picked to head up government agencies. "Our system did not work in this instance" was the quote by Napoloitano on the 'Today show', and that's supposed to be that. The Obama administration says they are launching investigations into the two areas of aviation security where the failure took place, I hope one of them is the removal of the head of Homeland Security because this attack, it is not an attempt, was 100% avoidable.

On Sunday Ms. Napolitano said the system did work and then Today she did a slight backtrack, I'm sure after someone explained what had actually happened, and she said the part of the system that worked was the part where they notify other flights and law enforcement on the ground about the incident soon after it happened, I hope this excuse came from a speech writer and wasn't of her own making because if it was she' an idiot then she's an idiot.

So as things go the spin doctors are hard at work trying to diminish another serious breach of security under the watch of the Obama administration. The fault lies directly the three people at the top of the security pyramid and they are Barack Obama, Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano, these three are the people who who are completely responsible for the implementation of our security measures and any breakdown or deficiencies are their fault.

Well there's one good thing that came out of all of this, 44 and Buff Arms are safe in the warm Hawaii sun on another all expense taxpayer paid leg of the Obama world tour while terrorists make their incursions into our country and the economy languishes.

Maybe it's time to re-think crime and punishment and really get the point across that 'if you can't do the time don't do the crime'.

I normally stay away from crime as a blog topic since I am one of I think many in the country that feels the legal system no longer works to put the guilty away for deserving sentences but looks for ways to release the guilty back into society without regard for the outcome. The murders in Seattle are a perfect example of a system in chaos. Maurice Clemmons, the murderer was originally sentenced to a very long sentence in Arkansas for a series of violent crimes when he was sixteen, then Governor Mike Huckabee commuted his sentence based on recommendations he received and what also appears to be his own rather liberal approach to crime and punishment. Mr. Clemmons went on to violate his parole and was sent back for what appears to be a slap on the wrist sentence and the rest is recent history.

There has been much made of politicians commuting sentences in recent years and not necessarily in a good sense. Our presidents do it on their way out of office to show their magnanimity, when much of what they do is based on how much they were paid off, to let some of those whose sentences were commuted hit the streets. Bill Clinton had Marc Rich a scumbag of the highest order whose commutation led to an investigation into payoffs by his wife to the Clinton's to get him freed and was subsequently let go by our current Attorney General Eric Holder, who admits that he exercised extremely bad judgment. George Bush wouldn't give Louis 'Scooter' Libby a complete pardon though which shows what disdain he must have for his 'not born to the manor' former Veep. Governors also get into the commuting game as evidenced by former Governor Huckabee and in many ways with similar results but less publicity which moves me to today's point.

If I've said it once I've said it a thousand times, my father would say that to me when he was really pissed at me, it's time to throw prison reform, prison reformers, anti death sentence advocates and any other goofs with liberal attitudes towards crime and punishment, out with the bath water. This so called noble experiment taking a soft approach toward crime is a complete failure and it you don't believe it look at today's headlines. There have been more people released that go right back to their old ways than you can shake a bloody caning rod at. Which is one of the forms of punishment we should adopt from our Asian neighbors. What's wrong with the electric chair, I'll bet it scared the living daylights out of many a potential murderer and kept them from doing the crime for fear they would fry. What's wrong with the gas chamber or the the single bullet to the back of the head Russian style. And in the spirit of going green what about the gallows, it's re-usable and if the rope is hemp fully recyclable. Sentence someone to prison for ten years and they should serve ten years, life means just that, LIFE, which to the uninformed means you leave feet first. Sex offenders, hand them their package in a jar of formaldehyde.

There is a way to make this happen and it starts at the ballot box. We as a people are for the most part quite law abiding and as such should not have to live under the spectre of violent criminals being given soft treatment at our expense.

Once again Harry Reid tries to slip in Abortion in a continuing effort to further his phony agenda at taxpayer expense.

Senator Reid and his minions have rewritten their Health Care yet plan again in an effort to trick the American public into thinking that he and his fellow Democrats have America's best interest at heart, wrong. Harry & Co have managed to deftly word the abortion clause to kind of read like there will be no burden on the public. It basically says it, abortion, will only be covered by public funds and be no burden to those holding private policies, but Harry, don't you realize that one of the real sticking points is that most are against having their tax dollars used for that rather unsavory purpose at all. And Harry, please stop with the only monies that will fund abortions will be those taxed or levied for the sole purpose of the health care initiative.

The Congressional Budget Office has come out in favor of the plan stating that the bill would reduce the deficit by about 130 billion in the first ten years and that added revenues and savings would 'probably' be greater than the cost of covering uninsured Americans. Then the number crunchers at the budget put big asterisks on the forecast using descriptive words like 'imprecision' and 'uncertainty' in describing the long range projection in what appears to be a move by the budget office to cover their asses and deflect blame when the bottom falls out, so basically this paper was written to satisfy the budget office for an endorsement even though it may be all fiction.

I haven't read the new plan being touted by Senator Reid but I'll go out on the limb on this one and say there is probably language that somehow ushers Illegals into the program at some point and I'm sure it's there somewhere because we haven't heard from any of the groups that advocate for Illegals which means 'The fix is in" to use an old Chicago political term.

2010 Elections are just over the horizon and Senator Reid among other are up for re-election, if you really want to make a difference vote against Senator Reid and every other self serving sitting politician in Washington before they turn us into a second rate nation dependent on entitlement programs.

Just when I say something nice about Jesse Jackson he goes and puts his worst foot forward again.

It was one of those very rare moments in time when I found cause to compliment the current 'King of the Poverty Pimps' himself, Jesse Jackson, for his very accurate description of the real unemployment numbers in America and the demographic that are the most affected by it, even though he failed to report that the group taking the jobs that should be going to many of the millions who are unemployed are illegal immigrants because they're probably a revenue source for him, but he at least made the point that the numbers being reported by the government are grossly understated. Then I get this email that's verifiable on Snopes and my new found respect for the 'Jet Stream' flies out the proverbial window.

It appears that The Reverend has taken pity on one of the state of Illinois' most noteworthy low level weasels, Mel Reynolds. Some quick history is in order, the dishonorable former Honorable Mr. Reynolds worked his way up through the system of Chicago politics and eventually won himself a seat as a Congressman from his district in the great Windy City only to have his political fortunes dashed by his bad behavior, specifically having sex with an underage staffer/volunteer, and that ain't all your honor, he was actually convicted of 12 counts of sexual assault, obstruction of justice and the granddaddy of them all, solicitation of child pornography, as the old saying goes 'not only his penis was working overtime, it was doing all of his thinking'. He resigned from Congress, got five years and then was convicted on unrelated charges of bank fraud, lying to SEC investigators, got 78 additional months and was pardoned by none other than Slick Willie himself, what a political resume.

So, as fate would have it the Good Reverend Jackson was apparently in need of a youth counselor for his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition organization recently and guess whose name floated up through the slime that covers the Chicago river, you guessed it , Mel Reynolds.

I'm just guessing that because of his political background and the fact that probably half of his former peers in Congress are of the same ilk, he managed to skate on the 'sex offender' moniker that most people get when they get caught banging a minor or soliciting child pornography. So based on Jesse's and 42's track records for porking staffers Mel must seem like one of the guy's. But then who knows, this may be a real step up in staffing for the Coalition.

HE SCREAMS ALLAH AKBAR WHILE SHOOTING AND YOU DON'T CALL THAT TERRORISM, WAKE UP YOU STUPID INFIDELS!

Sometimes, wait, wait, wait, most of the time I wonder what goes through the heads of the news media 'personalities'. It's more than obvious that what took place yesterday in Texas was the work of a traitorous terrorist, nothing more nothing less. Screaming Allah Akbar while he shoots unarmed 'people'. The most stupid questions I have ever heard keep surfacing on virtually all of the news media outlets. Last night the pompous Bill O'Reilly called this traitor a 'troubled man', Chris Matthews claimed there would have to be a new term applied as terrorism does not apply to military and the biggest goof of all was Dylan Ratigan that dufus at MSNBC trying to drum up some kind of liberal media generated sympathy for this Muslim scum while attempting to direct answers from his 'terrorism expert' guest.

Let me inject some sane thinking into the mix to see if any of the above mentioned 'most respected commentators in America' might be just a little off base in their remarks. First this 'traitor' (as he will be further called in this blog) committed an act of sedition, which means he deserves no sympathy from the get go. He took payment in the form of education from the government and fully understood that for that payment he would have to serve so many years in active service to satisfy the debt, he's been trying to renege on the contract for several years which in itself is an indication of his character and upbringing, the reneging part is documented by the way. He was being deployed to Iraq, but remember he is no combat soldier by any stretch of your small or big imagination. Doctors are not trained in the combat arms, they're doctors and as such far to valuable to a fighting force to risk injury or death on the battle field or 'area of operation' commonly called the AO when I fought in the big one (Vietnam). This coward just didn't want to go and it also appears that he had strong feelings about 'his' country being there to begin with. He also had anti-American blog postings within the last year that our government was well aware of and apparently did nothing about, had poor efficiency ratings (which in the military is the kiss of death to a distinguished career-not that this Muslim scum ever intended to have one), other than to transfer this second rate shrink from Walter Reed Medical Center to Texas to ship him out and get rid of him, a common military practice which bring me to the next point.

Why does our government continue to coddle this type of scum? There is no reason now as there never has been in the past, any reason whatsoever to to give special treatment to these 'types', they're traitors and that's it. Secondly, the news media needs to hire some people who are capable of performing tasks that require the application of basic logical thought, then we may not have to be be subjected to the rambling bull sh_t that we have since this horrific slaughter of innocent people took place. Third and last, there were civilians on the premises and from what was reported last night, several may have been shot and one or more may be in the group of those killed, so Mr. Matthews, while trying to diminish what happened because it took place on a Military base spouting off with another rubber lipped comment about how we must reclassify what took place only shows what tools he and his media siblings really are.

This lowlife is a traitor and a scum that deserves hanging, if he manages to live, and should be cremated and his ashes dumped into a porta-potty on a military base where he will get the honors he deserves. Sadly there will probably be some Islamic country that will want to take him and give him a hero's welcome.

Protestors in Chicago? Why.....just a few months ago they were the loyal Hope & Change Obama backers, what's wrong with this picture!

Today there was a march in Chicago protesting a meeting of US Bankers for the money they received and then proceeded to give themselves huge bonuses comprised almost entirely of Taxpayer money. And then to add some additional icing to the government cake they have not loaned any of said funds or moved forward to help struggling businesses and individuals further helping to stall the economy. Now, the above statement is partially true and partially not completely true.

True the big banks got the money and didn't lend it out to the little guys because that's not who they lend to, they got money because they are friends of big people in government, it's smaller banks that lend to the little guys, but on local level smaller banks for the most part have refused the government money because they don't want, for lack of a better phrase tonight, get into bed with the government. You see, if the smaller banks take the money they would become subjects of the government and would be forced to lend or not lend based on whatever Uncle Obama say's. Many also, feel the government would hurt their operations in the long run so what we have here is a stalemate of sorts.

Back to the protesters, they are out there in throngs, angry throngs, protesting the bonuses the bankers gave themselves while their neighborhoods fall apart and their small businesses can't get loans, logical, to a point I'd say. I listened to a small business owner tonight on that evil Fox News and he said he wasn't having money troubles, had a line of credit when he needed it and had it for years but didn't use it very often, he operates on the pay as you go plan. The pay as you go plan is where you pay for the services you get with money you have and if you don't have the dough you wait until you do, growth may be a little slower but at the end of the day the small business may find themselves in better shape and an awful lot happier no owing the bank a wad. The same applies to the homeowner, now I know this is not in sync with our modern times where credit is king but going forward this same concept of pay as you go may have some real potential for the average guy as well as the small business owner.

The people protesting in Chicago are more than likely the same people who were the most ardent backers of 44 and his Illinois entourage. They all more than likely thought electing a President from Illinois would automatically get them bags if not bushel baskets of that free government money, they wouldn't have to pay mortgages in Illinois anymore and their neighborhoods would be renewed as fast as the President could dispatch Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod to the city to coordinate things. Surprise, surprise the protesters have just gotten lesson number big one, this guy isn't going to help anyone but his inner circle and those who can ingratiate themselves monetarily to him, the ignorant little guy gets screwed again. The Unions were present to help muddy the waters and do their best to shift any blame away from the White House while demanding much tighter restrictions on the big banks, for what I don't know. Well, at least it didn't rain during the day and totally ruin their parade.

Nancy Pelosi came out of her Prozac induced Zombie like state today, only to find out that reality isn't at all what she expected, what a downer!

Nancy Pelosi it appears has finally been forced to accept the obvious with regards to the 'Public Option'. But true to form she has a backup plan and will go for a limited public option. The Wicked Witch of the West has been blithering on since 44 came to the White House about how she had the votes to pass the Health Care initiative and essentially how the Democrats were going to shove this plan up the asses of the American people regardless of how expensive it is and how bad the health care would become, because, she knows whats best for America. Wrong you Prozac popping progressive, you may the majority leader but you surely are not in touch with the majority that will count in the end. The American people may have been asleep at the wheel for some time but they are beginning to wake up to what the Congress and the Senate are trying to do, and the majority of American voters don't like it.

There have been numbers floating around this past week on how much this health care initiative will cost all Americans, that's the legal ones that pay taxes, and it ain't pretty. The most distressing part is that everyone in America is going to have to pony up for this one, not just the rich as the President would try to have us all believe. And why won't the Obama people take a look at rooting out the corruption that has become a systemic issue in Medicare and Medicaid. Medicare and Medicaid are proven systems and work very well and if modified slightly, anti-trust exemption removed from the insurance companies and some not so expensive tweaking done we may have a really good health care system that won't break us. But the Obama people don't want that because they would not have the additional control over the American people they so desperately seek.

Politicians and Media types want a return to civility, in their eyes the American public should be seen and not heard.....like the good old days!

Over the last couple of weeks I have tuned into the news only to hear the Media types and Political types calling for a return to civility, for what I don't know, they brought on the current state of commentary themselves with their greed and arrogance this applies to both of the above mentioned groups. The former Speaker of The House, Newt Gingrich, was on with Bill Orielly last week when they were discussing civility and how we have a need to move back in that direction, how so much criticism is counterproductive to our political system, and how much could be accomplished if the people in both political parties would just sit down and calmly discuss the nations woes. The same sentiments were voiced on MSNBC by Dylan Ratigan this morning along with his unmemorable guest when he referred to blogger's as toxic and how cynical everyone has become.

The toxic blogosphere is nothing more than Americans voicing their opinions about how the country is being run or should I say run into the ground by the very people we have entrusted to work on our behalf, that's our elected officials in case that one got by you, plain and simple they are working for themselves first and 'we the people' are lagging woefully behind. It's understandable that the politicians and the media are upset, but that's 'tough s_ _t' as the old saying goes. Mr. former Speaker, all of his political buddies and the media should fast forward to the here and now, the good old days are gone forever we've all been given a look behind the curtain and we don't like what we've seen.

Remember, you can make a difference and your vote really does count. The elections coming up in 2010 and 2012 will be a chance to secure our future as a democracy.

Other than senior officers trying to advance their careers, I never met one soldier who tried to 'earn' medals for injury or valor in combat.

There is a news article going around today about some Marine Sargent who has been passing himself off as a war hero of sorts, which in itself is an ambiguous term in that most people who are, don't really go into the particular circumstance as stated by an author in the article who debunks these frauds which in my experience is also, very true. I have never really given this kind of behavior an awful lot of thought, but aside from this article I actually ran into a guy at the health club last night who for some reason was somewhat vocal about comparing the war in Vietnam, which I was in, to the current string of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and somehow managed to inject Korea into the mix and tried to diminish the two current conflicts by comparison. Naturally, I am slow on the uptake, so I didn't really catch on to what he was doing until he had spouted off to at least one veteran of Afghanistan. He said that the wars in Vietnam and Korea were much worse and the fighting far more fierce and alluded to the current Iraq and Afghanistan wars being easy, that was when I started to catch on and decided to let this expert keep talking.

He went on to admit that he had never really gone to Vietnam because he had some kind of scar tissue that precluded him from combat although he had gone to OCS and was told that he would have been a Major after his first tour because he scored so high on his tests and could anticipate being catapulted to the rank of at least two star General if he decided to grace the military with a twenty year commitment. My best guess is that he had a family friend who had a connection with some Congressman or Senator and were able to get him stateside duty supervising a platoon of clerks. I also think he may have had any one of several maladies that kept him from strapping that seventy pound pack on his back and leading a squad of infantry' on to eternal glory. It could have possibly been shitinyourpantsitis or Ivegotayellowstreakupmybackitis or possibly Ihavetocomeupwithanexcusetokeepmeinthestatesitis, all serious conditions in that had they become pandemics' during any of our wars would have put our country in a bad way, he probably went on to become a lawyer or a politician.

He asked what I did and I said I went to flight school and he said Airborne? I wanted to tell him that, no, flight school meant learning how to fly an airplane or in my case a helicopter, but I told him helicopters and let it go at that, I now knew the source.

Anyway all wars as I see them are this, I would not want to fight in any of the current wars as these current events are every bit as deadly and fighting as fierce as any in the past. The wounds are as bad and you can end up as dead as any war before. There are some new twists in these modern times with the addition of IED's and suicide bombers that make these conflicts especially unsavory. I have had to opportunity and the privilege to know and serve with people who were front line combatants in WWII, Korea, The Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, The Gulf, Bosnia and Iraq and the men who fought these wars all have almost identical experiences and the effects were the same. To diminish this is in any way is pitiful, especially from someone who hasn't waltzed down the pathway to hell in the arms of the Devil. William Tecumseh Sherman the great Union General from the Civil War is credited with making the phrase "War is Hell" famous, truer words were never spoken.

To the Sargent who has faked his service and the jerk who attempted to diminish the sacrifice and service of others I say, piss on you.

The President is finding out that the majority of Americans aren't as easy to sway as the terminally stupid he dealt with as an Acorn organizer.

After watching the President's speech last night I have finally figured out why he's having difficulty getting his programs through. He keeps giving the same kind of speeches he has been giving since he was a community organizer working for Acorn in Chicago. What he's apparently missed is the fact that he was manipulating the minds of a very unsophisticated group of voters, both registered and mostly unregistered, in other words he was 'working' the audience like a classic slight of hand artist, and failed to notice that the vast majority of Americans aren't the recipients of entitlement programs, have jobs, families, don't want government handouts, are not racist and most of all don't like being tricked and lied to.

I know this sounds harsh but Mr. Obama hasn't left me any other alternative. Last night he did his best to try to convince anyone watching that he was doing this, health care reform, for the American family and no one else, is that like going out and getting one for the Gipper. He did allude that we would all have to sacrifice and that there would be some insignificant changes in the way health care would be delivered under his plan, although he would not elaborate as to what he means by sacrifice and as the old saying goes 'there ain't no way he'll discuss the delivery issue'. The best part of the speech was when he said his program was actually going to be less expensive and there would be no sacrifice in the care, so if there is no sacrifice in care what are we going to have to sacrifice, my best guess is a substantial amount of our income in the form of heavy taxes to pay for this loser.

The best part of the whole evening was afterward when the pundits and analysts took over and tried to make sense of what had been said. Fox had no idea of what was said, their people said the speech failed to give any substantive points and that they were still in the dark as much as their viewers. Then I turned to MSNBC and Chris Matthews the guy who knows everything liberal and progressive who himself was unable to make heads and tails of the Presidents speech and couldn't get an answer out of any of the guests on his panel to include Dr. Nancy Snyderman, who said the President said nothing in his speech. America is finally waking up to what they elected in an emotional moment.

As an organizer he could get a crowd all worked up with the promise of free stuff, he mistakenly has underestimated mainstream America thinking they would go for the same hollow promises.

I was going to cover Gov. Sanford but after reading the NAACP article about Obama's speech I couldn't pass it up.

I am fast coming to a point where I don't believe a thing our 'beloved' President says. I read parts of the speech he gave at the NAACP 100th anniversary and finished in a state of wonderment. He makes the point that so many in the black community have come to expect so little from themselves. Well, Mr. Obama that's precisely what most people in America feel and they can put the blame directly on the liberal element in government. All of the social programs that have been enacted over the last forty years have basically brought this phenomenon about.

When people don't have to work for anything they become lazy and 'expect little from themselves', here's a case in point. Watch immigrants who are eastern Europeans, real Africans from Africa and Asians when they come to this country. The first thing they do almost to the last person is get a job, however menial they get a job. Then they set about learning the language and educating themselves. As they advance they move up in society and most importantly assimilate into the mainstream. No matter how hard government statisticians try they cannot deny that people coming to America who have not been exposed to various 'welfare' type programs go on the succeed.

Now I ask Mr.Obama and the leadership of the NAACP, whats so hard about that. Why aren't they preaching those tenets to their 'people'. As long as the government continues pushing entitlement programs on the black community, black Americans will continue to be held down, you can call them whatever you want but I choose to call the programs a subtle form of slavery. Sometimes looking in from the outside is the best way to identify problems. Racism does exist, there's no denying it, but not anywhere near the proportions that our government officials would lead us to believe. The vast majority of Americans would like to see all Americans and that especially includes black Americans, to succeed and that's a fact that even our self styled 'Messiah', President Obama can't refute.

All those payoffs to our politicians and government people from the Mexican government and cartels have really borne some bitter fruit!

There was a news story today about the assassination of twelve Mexican Federal Agents by one of the drug cartels that operates in and out of Mexico. This is the direct result of the corruption that has engulfed the entire ruling body in Mexico and God only knows how many of our elected officials and crooked bureaucrats have been bought and paid for. The troubles Mexico is experiencing is a direct result of the leaders of that country turning a blind eye to the cartels after being and thus signaling their underlings that this is the rule of the day.

I'm sure they thought this arrangement would go on forever, up until Felipe Calderon was elected Mexican Presidents were forever greasing the palms of our elected on their show trips to Washington DC. The most memorable in the recent past to me anyway, was the visit by Vincente Fox when he visited then 43 in an effort to convince him to leave the borders open, not to stem the flow of illegals, but to keep the usual unobstructed flow of drugs coming into the US.

Mexico has 11 thousand dead since Felipe Calderon took power and sent the military after the cartels. I don't know how much effort the US is putting into stopping the movement of drugs on this side of the border but my guess is that it isn't enough. Our borders were never beefed up adequately after 9/11 and the Border Patrol has been shorted in manpower all along in what appears to be an accommodation to the corrupt officials on the other side of the border by our corrupt officials on this side of the border. The incident that really gets me is the Fox-Bush meeting when 'W' caved on all border issues to that mustachioed weasel, I guess you might call it professional courtesy.

We need to take a most aggressive stance in the war on drugs for the first time in our history. Our DEA has never been able to adequately do it's Job and like our modern military is pulled back and the enemy allowed to carry on their activities just when you have them in a position to render them incapable of further action. I don't know if the Obama people have the balls that are necessary to deal with this situation as it requires the harshest of measures, I can only hope so.

There's no chance of the 'New GM ' failing with US and Canadian government backing and 20 billion of taxpayers money, is there Uncle Marvin?

With the 'New GM' launching itself out of chapter 11 bankruptcy after what they call a whirlwind 40 days of real solid work and into the stratosphere with other corporate luminaries this morning, you would think there would be an awful lot of fanfare and outright hoopla, well you're wrong on several counts. No not even the twenty billion they are getting to 'hold them over until economic conditions are right' or the complete backing of the Obama administration and the Canadian government are sending shivers of ecstasy up and down anyone's spine, it's more like the finale of two praying mantis' mating, that's where the female bites off the males head and eats him whole, in other words one party gets the really bad end of the stick and in this case the male mantis is the American taxpayer.

GM if you will remember was for many years the largest industrial company in the world, they lost the title to Exxon/Mobil and then went to work and won it back. It appears that somewhere along the way the title went to the heads of the heads of the 'Old GM' and they hatched a plan with their counterparts in the other US car companies to see who could produce the worst cars. Ford had the title for a while, recall the original exploding Ford Fiesta, followed by a string of ugly unreliable road boats. Then we have Chrysler who took the contest so seriously that they never made a decent car again. But GM wouldn't be outdone, and because of their size and resources they set about the task of not only producing the most lackluster line of cars in history but their corporate heads in a move to win hands down drove the company out of business.

To make sure the company moves forward in the 'right' direction Fritz Henderson the mild mannered CEO who has difficulty answering a direct question as to where GM cars will be manufactured (he always says "we would like to make our cars where we sell them") and is himself an old GM guy, has brought in the legendary Bob Lutz to help in reshaping GM or should I be saying, shaping the 'New GM', here's a little bit of history on this living legend. Mr. Lutz was the CEO of Exide Technologies until they filed for bankruptcy, was President of Chrysler Corporation where he developed the 'company saving' vehicles, the Dodge Viper, The Plymouth Prowler and the LH platform automobiles which all helped lead to Chrysler's demise. Wow, all this big auto industry news has really helped to solidify my opinion. GM has no chance whatsoever, they're are recycling the same doof's that brought down one company after another. I wonder how long it will take to get Rick Wagoner involved in some capacity.

Good 'deals' with the Pharmaceutical and Hospital companies equals bad 'deals for America, and am I going to have to drop my PPO for a Gov run HMO....

I have some very serious reservations about the deals that are being made by the Obama administration with the Pharmaceutical and Hospital companies. I guess the largest issue is that not one of people involved in putting this initiative together will give any details as to what is being proposed and how the average John Doe will navigate this new so called better health care system. To get the media off their backs they will tell you that there will be virtually no change than what you have today. You don't have to change your present plan, get to choose your own doctor, although they allude to the entire system being likened to the infamous HMO system which was a nightmare and the care in most cases was somewhere south of pathetic.

Once upon a time I was in an HMO when I had been out of work for a short time and was very po', I did some rather extensive research as to why there was such a gap between PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) and HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) because I couldn't understand why such a difference existed. In short the HMO approach is based on more patients and less service while the PPO approach is based on fewer patients and better service. The reason I bring this up is that our fine elected officials have on several occasions tried to convince us, America, that the HMO system can be more effective than what we presently have, if this monkey f_ _k manages to pass how many of our elected officials will get their health care from the government plan, my guess is none.

The system is supposed to be paid for by people making 200 thousand and up with adjustments for couples making more, but just a few months ago our elected officials were using a 250 thousand number. Even the most liberal Democrat will admit that the number will probably be considerably lower if the plan takes effect as the amount to make the program go is beyond the average persons wildest imagination.

Since no real details of the deals with the Pharmaceutical and Hospital companies are being made public I can only imagine how much money has either changed hands or will be over a set period of time. One thing I can say for sure and that is the Pharmaceutical and Hospital companies will not come out on the short end of the stick, the American taxpayers will.

Is a second stimulus plan like getting off twice in one night?

As my stocks are heading south again on the news that the Obama geniuses are suggesting a second stimulus plan when the first hasn't worked yet and the vast majority of the money from the first hasn't even made it into the proverbial pipeline. There is news today that we should all just take a deep breath and wait because the money for many of the public works projects that are supposed to create millions of TEMPORARY jobs should be coming in the fall, which is really stupid because public works projects like roads and bridges don't run in the winter.

Then the 'always got an answer' Juan Williams, NPR and Fox News contributor, thinks giving another round of unemployment benefits is in order, and that a second stimulus may be just what the economy needs, great Juan but what about the jobs leaving like cockroaches from a burning building and no guarantee that this next trillion dollar blast will do anymore than the first other than leave us with a tax bills on our backs like millstones from hell.

There are those in Congress like the Majority Leader the Honorable Steny Hoyer of Maryland, a typical east coast BS Artist, thinks a second round would be just the thing to jolt the economy out of the recession, however the never cautious but now for some reason reflective Harry Reid, Harry is having a tough go getting re-elected, says he doesn't know if the second round is needed because 'shoots of economic recovery are now appearing above the ground, how Waldenesque Harry, how eloquently he spews his brand of bull s_ _t.

Well, with Obama stated unemployment approaching 10% things are not working out as well as the Hope & Change crowd hallucinated, real economists will be happy to tell you that the real unemployment number right now is over 15% and that the 'shoots of recovery' if there at all, are very small, Harry must have some kind of 'super' vision'. Our elected officials need to get out of Washington for a dose of reality and talk to the voters and those who have lost their jobs and are living in fear of their lives going down the proverbial drain. If Americans have any brains left they will vote everyone of these gas bags out of office in the coming elections in 2010 & 2012.

I felt so good after launching this blog I've just got to say 'Thank you sir I'll do another'

This morning after launching this new blog, Baron's Perspective under my equally new nom de plume, Christopher Baron I decided to dip into the literary well a second time in the same day. What pushed me over the edge was a news story that headlined the likes of Nancy Pelosi pissing away 57 grand (that's 57 thousand for you newer generation types) on a ten day trip to Europe.

There were several pundits who thought it is a good idea to have our Congressmen and women traveling abroad to get an idea as to how the rest of the world thinks and lives, so maybe a trip or two would be OK but how about economy lodging in these times of financial meltdown, cut the entourage to a minimum, dispense with the fanfare. I can't imagine what her excuse will be, maybe to cover her staffers and security staff---that won't work because any sane thinking American knows that these trips are nothing more than paid for vacations where nothing is accomplished other than the Congresswoman and her staff getting fat of European cooking and getting out of the country for as few days to avoid questions as to why they are destroying our future.

We've had it too good for too long and we as a nation have been lulled into a state where we believe the rants and ramblings of smooth talking politicians and their lies that they are working on our best behalf. Obama and his Socialist rangers will strip most of our important freedoms if allowed, wake up America.

Why not start this new blog out on the right foot and and give this Marxist in disguise some what for.

I was watching Cavuto on Business for a few minutes this morning while setting up this new blog when they began talking about legislation for the green police. This group are really beginning to show their true colors, take care of me from cradle to grave, no way. Maybe the generation coming up are willing to give up all of their personal freedoms for some freebies but not me. If we as a nation don't begin to revolt at the ballot box and send the likes of Mr. Obama and his people into political obscurity we will be doomed as a nation, unless of course you want that Brave new World.

God, it's great to have another outlet to help comment on what's going on in our nation's capitol and around the world.
