After watching the President's speech last night I have finally figured out why he's having difficulty getting his programs through. He keeps giving the same kind of speeches he has been giving since he was a community organizer working for Acorn in Chicago. What he's apparently missed is the fact that he was manipulating the minds of a very unsophisticated group of voters, both registered and mostly unregistered, in other words he was 'working' the audience like a classic slight of hand artist, and failed to notice that the vast majority of Americans aren't the recipients of entitlement programs, have jobs, families, don't want government handouts, are not racist and most of all don't like being tricked and lied to.
I know this sounds harsh but Mr. Obama hasn't left me any other alternative. Last night he did his best to try to convince anyone watching that he was doing this, health care reform, for the American family and no one else, is that like going out and getting one for the Gipper. He did allude that we would all have to sacrifice and that there would be some insignificant changes in the way health care would be delivered under his plan, although he would not elaborate as to what he means by sacrifice and as the old saying goes 'there ain't no way he'll discuss the delivery issue'. The best part of the speech was when he said his program was actually going to be less expensive and there would be no sacrifice in the care, so if there is no sacrifice in care what are we going to have to sacrifice, my best guess is a substantial amount of our income in the form of heavy taxes to pay for this loser.
The best part of the whole evening was afterward when the pundits and analysts took over and tried to make sense of what had been said. Fox had no idea of what was said, their people said the speech failed to give any substantive points and that they were still in the dark as much as their viewers. Then I turned to MSNBC and Chris Matthews the guy who knows everything liberal and progressive who himself was unable to make heads and tails of the Presidents speech and couldn't get an answer out of any of the guests on his panel to include Dr. Nancy Snyderman, who said the President said nothing in his speech. America is finally waking up to what they elected in an emotional moment.
As an organizer he could get a crowd all worked up with the promise of free stuff, he mistakenly has underestimated mainstream America thinking they would go for the same hollow promises.
Thanks for reading,
