Protestors in Chicago? Why.....just a few months ago they were the loyal Hope & Change Obama backers, what's wrong with this picture!

Today there was a march in Chicago protesting a meeting of US Bankers for the money they received and then proceeded to give themselves huge bonuses comprised almost entirely of Taxpayer money. And then to add some additional icing to the government cake they have not loaned any of said funds or moved forward to help struggling businesses and individuals further helping to stall the economy. Now, the above statement is partially true and partially not completely true.

True the big banks got the money and didn't lend it out to the little guys because that's not who they lend to, they got money because they are friends of big people in government, it's smaller banks that lend to the little guys, but on local level smaller banks for the most part have refused the government money because they don't want, for lack of a better phrase tonight, get into bed with the government. You see, if the smaller banks take the money they would become subjects of the government and would be forced to lend or not lend based on whatever Uncle Obama say's. Many also, feel the government would hurt their operations in the long run so what we have here is a stalemate of sorts.

Back to the protesters, they are out there in throngs, angry throngs, protesting the bonuses the bankers gave themselves while their neighborhoods fall apart and their small businesses can't get loans, logical, to a point I'd say. I listened to a small business owner tonight on that evil Fox News and he said he wasn't having money troubles, had a line of credit when he needed it and had it for years but didn't use it very often, he operates on the pay as you go plan. The pay as you go plan is where you pay for the services you get with money you have and if you don't have the dough you wait until you do, growth may be a little slower but at the end of the day the small business may find themselves in better shape and an awful lot happier no owing the bank a wad. The same applies to the homeowner, now I know this is not in sync with our modern times where credit is king but going forward this same concept of pay as you go may have some real potential for the average guy as well as the small business owner.

The people protesting in Chicago are more than likely the same people who were the most ardent backers of 44 and his Illinois entourage. They all more than likely thought electing a President from Illinois would automatically get them bags if not bushel baskets of that free government money, they wouldn't have to pay mortgages in Illinois anymore and their neighborhoods would be renewed as fast as the President could dispatch Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod to the city to coordinate things. Surprise, surprise the protesters have just gotten lesson number big one, this guy isn't going to help anyone but his inner circle and those who can ingratiate themselves monetarily to him, the ignorant little guy gets screwed again. The Unions were present to help muddy the waters and do their best to shift any blame away from the White House while demanding much tighter restrictions on the big banks, for what I don't know. Well, at least it didn't rain during the day and totally ruin their parade.

Nancy Pelosi came out of her Prozac induced Zombie like state today, only to find out that reality isn't at all what she expected, what a downer!

Nancy Pelosi it appears has finally been forced to accept the obvious with regards to the 'Public Option'. But true to form she has a backup plan and will go for a limited public option. The Wicked Witch of the West has been blithering on since 44 came to the White House about how she had the votes to pass the Health Care initiative and essentially how the Democrats were going to shove this plan up the asses of the American people regardless of how expensive it is and how bad the health care would become, because, she knows whats best for America. Wrong you Prozac popping progressive, you may the majority leader but you surely are not in touch with the majority that will count in the end. The American people may have been asleep at the wheel for some time but they are beginning to wake up to what the Congress and the Senate are trying to do, and the majority of American voters don't like it.

There have been numbers floating around this past week on how much this health care initiative will cost all Americans, that's the legal ones that pay taxes, and it ain't pretty. The most distressing part is that everyone in America is going to have to pony up for this one, not just the rich as the President would try to have us all believe. And why won't the Obama people take a look at rooting out the corruption that has become a systemic issue in Medicare and Medicaid. Medicare and Medicaid are proven systems and work very well and if modified slightly, anti-trust exemption removed from the insurance companies and some not so expensive tweaking done we may have a really good health care system that won't break us. But the Obama people don't want that because they would not have the additional control over the American people they so desperately seek.

Politicians and Media types want a return to civility, in their eyes the American public should be seen and not heard.....like the good old days!

Over the last couple of weeks I have tuned into the news only to hear the Media types and Political types calling for a return to civility, for what I don't know, they brought on the current state of commentary themselves with their greed and arrogance this applies to both of the above mentioned groups. The former Speaker of The House, Newt Gingrich, was on with Bill Orielly last week when they were discussing civility and how we have a need to move back in that direction, how so much criticism is counterproductive to our political system, and how much could be accomplished if the people in both political parties would just sit down and calmly discuss the nations woes. The same sentiments were voiced on MSNBC by Dylan Ratigan this morning along with his unmemorable guest when he referred to blogger's as toxic and how cynical everyone has become.

The toxic blogosphere is nothing more than Americans voicing their opinions about how the country is being run or should I say run into the ground by the very people we have entrusted to work on our behalf, that's our elected officials in case that one got by you, plain and simple they are working for themselves first and 'we the people' are lagging woefully behind. It's understandable that the politicians and the media are upset, but that's 'tough s_ _t' as the old saying goes. Mr. former Speaker, all of his political buddies and the media should fast forward to the here and now, the good old days are gone forever we've all been given a look behind the curtain and we don't like what we've seen.

Remember, you can make a difference and your vote really does count. The elections coming up in 2010 and 2012 will be a chance to secure our future as a democracy.
